Catalyze
The purpose of the Catalyze Working Group is to support First Nations and local governments who are implementing flood-solutions on the ground. We offer a capacity boost to support flood resilient projects, through technical expertise, fundraising support, facilitating conversations, and any other strategies.
This Working Group is led by Resilient Waters, a non-profit organization that has been catalyzing projects since its inception in 2019. Resilient Waters has focused on replacing outdated flood control infrastructure to make it fish-friendly and more resilient to flooding.

The Catalyze Working Group can use the knowledge gained from Resilient Waters to support any projects in the Lower Fraser that improve floodplains resilience, in alignment with our 5 Principles for Working Together. If you are interested in receiving support from the LFFC, please contact us.

Current Projects
1) Existing Initiatives Mapping

- We are developing a map that will showcase all flood initiatives in the Lower Fraser. This map will provide regional actors with information on what is happening in nearby communities to find opportunities for collaboration.
2) Flood Toolbox

- With support from UBC School of Landscape Architecture, the LFFC and EPS are developing a flood toolbox for First Nations communities. This toolbox identifies current flood risk in the 4 hubs of the Lower Fraser and provides options for mitigation. We aim to release the toolbox by the end of 2024. View the flood resiliency toolbox page here.
