Coastal Flood Adaptation Strategy - Foreshore Living Dike Project - Inter-jurisdictional collaboration between Semiahmoo First Nation, City of Surrey, City of Delta and West Coast Environmental Law enabled acquiring Disaster Mitigation Adaptation Funding for an innovative, nature-based flood protection pilot in the upper intertidal marsh areas of western Boundary Bay.

Grants & Funding Sources
First Nations Adapt Program provides funding to First Nation communities to assess and respond to climate change impacts on community infrastructure and emergency management.

Infrastructure Canada Disaster Mitigation Adaptation Funds are a national merit-based program that supports large-scale infrastructure projects to help communities better manage the risks of disasters triggered by natural hazards.  


Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia Grants support projects that strengthen communities and protect our shared land and water. 

​Union of BC Municipalities Community Emergency Preparedness Fund is a suite of funding streams intended to enhance the resiliency of local governments, First Nations and communities in responding to emergencies. Funding is provided by the Province of BC and administered by UBCM.
